Description

Throwing Teapots Take your pottery skills to the next level with a focused exploration of teapot forms. In this intermediate class, students will design and create functional, well-balanced teapots while developing their understanding of form, proportion, and detail. Using a combination of wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques, you will learn to create and assemble components such as bodies, lids, spouts, and handles, with an emphasis on fit, pour, and cohesive design. This class is ideal for those with prior wheel experience who are ready to challenge themselves with more complex forms. What to Bring Apron Any tools you have/wish to use Participants must have been working consistently with clay for at least 2 years, and be able to centre 3lbs of clay with ease and throw even 5” cylinders. All glazes and kiln firings are included in the class fee. Clay is not included and must be purchased from the studio. Any necessary tools are available at the studio for your use; however, if you have your own, feel free to bring them!
