Kiefer Floreal: Form, Function & Intention Workshop Join us for an immersive two-day workshop with ceramic artist Kiefer Floreal, exploring the relationship between form, function, and intention in pottery. Day One The workshop will begin with an introduction to Kiefer and his ceramic practice, along with group introductions and a few ice breakers. Kiefer will then lead demonstrations and discussions focused on the relationship between form and function in ceramic work. In the afternoon, participants will explore the shapes and functions of everyday objects, with particular attention given to the intention behind each piece. The day will wrap up with a group critique, discussion, and potluck. Day Two Participants will return to their pieces to trim, refine, and add handles. Kiefer will lead a discussion on handle design, including how to consider proportion, comfort, and the appropriate weight and balance for each piece. If time allows, additional throwing exercises will be offered. Kiefer will also have a selection of his own pottery available for purchase throughout the workshop. Each participant will receive a box of Laguna B-Mix 5, generously donated by Pottery Supply House. Please bring your favourite throwing and trimming tools ensuring you have some ribs on hand. Cancellation Policy
Full refunds will be issued for cancellations made at least two weeks prior to the start of class. Cancellations made within two weeks of the class start date are eligible for a refund minus a 20% administration fee. No refunds will be issued once classes have begun.
