Membership Options

The Brantford Potters' Guild has two membership options available to those who are interested in becoming part of our community!
Membership runs from October 1st through to September 30th.
Please read through the options carefully.
Active Membership
$35 annually

Details​
Volunteering for the guild is highly encouraged, but not mandatory.

Active Memberships are can be purchased at any point during the year, the fee will not be pro-rated.

​

This membership option does not include use of ClayWorks Studio.

Studio Membership
$310 annually*

Mandatory 36 volunteer hours annually

Details​

Studio membership is open to potters with experience. Applicants must be 16 or older on October 1st of the current membership year.

​

Requirements:

You should have at least 3 of the following before applying to become a Studio Member:

  1. Do you have at least 3 years of experience working with clay, either wheel or hand building?

  2. Do you have at least intermediate level 1 according to ClayWorks curriculum charts?

  3. Do you have the recommendation of a teacher at ClayWorks?

  4. Are you an established potter (working with clay elsewhere) and have a portfolio to show off?

 
AND YOU MUST

Demonstrate thorough knowledge of how a clay studio operates (safety, equipment, cleaning, glazing and ware handling).

Procedure for Approval:

  1. Read the Code of Conduct and Clayworks Studio Policies.

  2. Fill out a studio member application, which can be found here.

  3. Once the application is submitted it will be reviewed by the studio manager, who will contact you to set up an interview.

  4. Once approved, you will be given the password to access the Studio Membership payment and registration page.

 

*Fee Information:

The annual membership fee is $310

If you join the studio after December 31, the membership fee is reduced as such:

  • January 1st to April 30th - Flat fee of $225

  • May 1st to September 30th - Flat fee of $150
