Studio Monitor Portal
As a student studio monitor, you act on behalf of the Brantford Potters’ Guild. We always aim to offer a courteous, friendly, and welcoming environment. Our students are potential future studio members, and we want to encourage them in their clay journey!
-
Arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled shift
-
Unlock the studio, the clay cupboard and retrieve the student punch cards
-
Greet each person who enters the studio and introduce yourself to the students
-
Ensure the students sign in using the posted QR code
-
Initial a circle on the student's punch card as they arrive for practice time. 1 circle = 1 studio session
-
Purchased cards will have the student's name on the top. If they just purchased a 5 or 10-visit card, have them show you their receipt on their phone and add their name to a new card. The cards are to remain at the studio. If someone has not yet purchased a card, have them go to the website and under Learn, then Student Studio Time, to purchase
-
Dispose of any full cards
-
Ask the students whose class they attend, what they are planning to work on for the session, and offer to answer any questions they may have to the best of your ability
-
Engage with the students periodically over the 3-hour session
-
Remind students 20 minutes before the end of the session that it is clean-up time
-
Ensure students sign out of the studio using the posted QR code
-
Once everyone has left, ensure that all students have left their stations clean and tidy
-
Return cards to the shelf in the clay cupboard and lock it
-
Record your service hours
Occasionally, students of workshops may need to pick up their finished pieces from the studio. We provide these students with the schedule for the Student Studio Time as an option for them to pick up. Those who run the classes should have placed these pieces in the clay cupboard for them.
Please assist these students with locating their pieces.
