Rosalie MacNeil

Adult Class Instructor

Rosalie is a retired art teacher turned potter. She has been working with clay for 35 years and specializes in hand-painted mugs and platters. She has taught at ClayWorks since 2016 when she took on the Kids’ classes. She has enjoyed being an adult class teacher for several sessions now and loves to see her students grow in skill and appreciation of all things clay. She has taught workshops and mini-classes in nerikomi, figurative sculpture, and surface design. She is visually inspired by tangled gardens, Japanese brush strokes and batik fabric. Rosalie loves to work with underglaze colour on Cone 6 Stoneware using brush, resists, carving, stamping and Mishima. Working in small batches, her mug forms vary to a great degree, but comfortable handles are always a priority!
