Class Information

Where to go

All classes are held at our ClayWorks Studio location 111 Sherwood Drive unit 3, in Brantford.

A detailed map can be found on our contact page located here.

What to wear

Dress in comfortable clothes and shoes that can get messy. Most clay will wash out of your clothing easily, but wax and glaze materials may not. An apron is a great idea to protect your clothing!

Long hair needs to be tied back and jewellery removed.

For wheel class specifically (but is also helpful for hand building), it is suggested to shorten nails if you typically wear them long, you will likely find they impair your ability to throw on the wheel.

Tools

All tools are supplied for all hand building, Kids and Youth classes.

For any adult wheel classes, you may order a tool kit online ahead of time here or some may be available at the first class. If you already have your own tools, make sure to bring a cutting wire, pin tool, wooden tool, trimming tool, ribs (rubber, wood or metal) as well as any other favourite tools! If you do plan on purchasing a tool kit, we suggest doing this ahead of time so that we have enough kits on hand.

Clay

The only clay that can be fired at ClayWorks is clay purchased at ClayWorks.

All clay is provided for the Kids classes.

Youth Wheel students are suggested to purchase their clay at the first class as these bags can be shared between students.

Clay is not included in the price of adult classes. You may purchase it ahead of time online here or at your first class. It is recommended that all beginners use PSH 455 Speckled Clay. You will be able to purchase more clay as you need it during the term.

Practice Time

We are currently restructuring this program. Please check back in.

Note to parents/guardians/caregivers:

When you drop off your students for their first class, please be sure to take a moment and check that your contact details, emergency contact and pick-up details on our master list are correct.

Note to all students:

The studio has installed cameras that are positioned at the front and rear doors. We have added these as an increased measure of security.

Thank you for joining us for a pottery class!
See you at the studio!
