  • Who can register?
    Classes are open to those with all levels of experience who are over the age of 16, unless otherwise noted.
  • When can I register?
    Registration opens a few weeks before the term starts. Subscribe to our mailing list here on our contact page to be kept in the loop. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and spaces cannot be held. Classes that are undersubscribed 1 week before the first class will be cancelled.

  • What is included with my course fee?
    30 hours of instructed studio time to develop skills in both wheel and hand building techniques. Access to Guild library of pottery/ceramic videos, books, and magazines. As well as all materials and equipment required to complete your pieces (excluding clay and tool kit). ***classes with a large number of beginners will have both a lead instructor and an experienced assistant.
  • What should I bring to class?
    Notebook and pen A towel/apron and wear old clothes and comfortable flat shoes, because you’ll get a bit dirty! (Note: Long fingernails may hinder working on the wheel and can be damaged by throwing.) Your favourite tools (new students can purchase an “essentials” tool kit during registration). Cash to purchase clay ($27 per bag, which includes glazing and firing. Important: ONLY clay purchased at the studio can be fired at the studio.) if none was purchased at the time of registration. Clayworks is a fragrance-free studio. Please avoid using scented products before/during your time in the studio.
  • Is there a minimum enrollment for classes?
    Classes do have a minimum enrollment. If this number is not reached before end of registration, you will be contacted by email, and we will provide a full refund.
  • How do I get there?
    Clayworks studio is located at 111 Sherwood Drive, Unit 2b, in the east-most building of the Brantford Artisan’s Village complex. Find an interactive map on our contact page here.
  • Can I practice before/after/between classes?
    We are now offering practice time in the studio for our students. Please read the requirements here. If you have further questions, please speak with your instructor.
  • Do you have a refund policy?
    A full refund will be given up to two weeks prior to start of class. Less than two weeks will be given a refund minus a 20% administration fee. No refunds will be given once classes have started.
  • What happens if I miss a class?
    If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather or instructor illness, we will provide a make up class. Make up classes are not available for any other missed classes.
